Diana Cangueiro

Intern psychotherapist

Since the beginning of my professional career, I have worked in both the scientific world and in music creation. I believe that we are complex beings in constant transformation and the search for our purpose can be as fascinating as it is challenging. I began my career as a music therapist in palliative care and I am fortunate to witness every day how music and art can overcome barriers, fears and blockages. For me, working in palliative care means discovering a little about life every day, learning to give it all its value and also accepting our finitude as a natural process. My path through body psychotherapy began and continues with an individual search: how to breathe, how to meditate, how to listen to and understand the languages of our body? In ancient times, when someone asked for their way in the middle of the desert, the person who received the request would always walk part of the way with them. In therapy, being able to walk part of the way alongside the person and witness creation, new form or transcendence is an ongoing privilege. Body Psychotherapy, Mentara Music Therapy, Lusíada University Advanced Specialization in Trauma and Neuroscience Compassion Cultivation Training, Compassion Institute

This transition represents the opportunity to dedicate this second phase of his professional life to a more humanistic and transformative purpose. Carlos Alves is a trainee Somatic Psychotherapist and specialist in Neurofeedback and qEEG. He holds an Executive MBA and completed a Master's degree in Mental Health in 2024. In the area of applied neuroscience, he has completed several advanced courses in Neurofeedback and qEEG, including training with Stens Corporation, Brownback & Mason and Stress Therapy Solutions.

Martina Feuer Castro

Intern psychotherapist

Martina is an intern at the School of Somatic Psychotherapy, passionate about working with people and with a career marked by cultural and linguistic diversity. Throughout her life, she has been involved in various areas of human interaction, always focusing on communication and personal development. Fluent in Portuguese, English, Italian, Croatian, and Serbian, she is qualified to offer multicultural therapeutic care, adapting to the individual needs of her clients.

In addition to her work with somatic psychotherapy, Martina cultivates a deep love for art and movement. She enjoys traveling, sailing, drawing and painting, activities that provide her not only with creative inspiration, but also moments of introspection and personal growth. An avid reader, she believes that knowledge comes as much from the pages of books as from lived experiences.

For her, psychotherapy is a journey of discovery and transformation, in which each individual has the power to chart their own path to healing. As a great appreciator of life's adventures and continuous learning, she follows the philosophy expressed in the quote by Helen Keller:
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

Marta Araujo

Intern psychotherapist

I'm Marta and I'm passionate about life. For me, people and their complexity are the most interesting thing in the universe. I bring to my therapeutic practice a multidisciplinary background, a combination of my life experiences and a deep love for human beings. I was raised in the Azores, surrounded by the inspiring power of the sea and nature, and of course this shaped my vision of the connection between emotional well-being and harmony with the world around us. I studied Journalism in search of an external truth, but over the years I understood that the search was internal. I studied complementary and diverse areas such as Tantric Philosophy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Coaching and even Massage until I finally found in Somatic Psychotherapy a more integrative and humane answer. I'm a shy Yoga practitioner but a fervent follower of Biodanza and I believe in the power of therapeutic body movement. I am passionate about the process, the purpose and the presence and I believe that the path to self-knowledge is not linear, but it is, without a doubt, the greatest adventure we can experience.

Paula Ferreira

She has been a systemic constellation therapist since 2013, having developed her own method. Other tools she uses are SE – Somatic Experiencing and Focusing. She is currently dedicated to studying the use of psychedelics in mental health and offers therapeutic support for psychedelic integration. Paula has also been an Aura Reader since 2014 and has worked with Energy Alignment (Sacred Fire) since 2009, having been part of the team of the creator of the technique, Mônica Oliveira, at Núcleo Fogo Sagrado.

Sara Guerra

Intern psychotherapist

I am a trainee therapist who adapts to the needs of each person, regardless of age, religion or background, and brings continuous study and care to her practices.

She is currently studying Psychology at the European University in the 2nd year, with the aim of becoming a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist.

"I've always found people, their minds, and souls fascinating. Each person is a world."

In addition to the Psychology Course, he is a final year student of the Somatic Psychotherapy Course and has been giving therapy sessions since 2024.

Together with the current study, constant reading and a path of psychotherapy and other personal therapies for almost 10 years, in the sessions with the therapist you can expect calm, understanding, openness, dedication and a special focus on the nervous system and the needs of each person.

We may have the best techniques and training, but if we don't learn to genuinely listen to the other person and understand what they really need, we will lose people. So listening and heart are something I demand of myself in my sessions.

Sara Martins Vieira

Intern psychotherapist

I started the program at MENTARA (formerly CPSB) in 2021, and it was a transformative experience. It wasn't just a course that confirmed the right career choice for me, but it also transformed the way I live and interact with the world. To expand my knowledge in behavior and personal development, I pursued additional training, becoming a certified Professional Coach and a certified Hypnotherapist, considering these tools to be useful in therapy sessions.

Christiana Lube

Intern psychotherapist

I'm Christiana, and my professional journey began through body and movement. In Brazil, I attended a CrossFit gym where I realized that the body not only moves but also tells profound stories about who we are. This discovery led me to Yoga, which allowed me to access emotions stored within the body and awakened my passion for self-knowledge and the deep integration between body and psyche.

When I moved to Portugal, I came into contact with Transpersonal Psychology and Mindfulness, and later found in the Somatic Psychotherapy training at CPSB (currently Mentara) my space of deep identification.

Through my own history imprinted on my body and psyche, I began to better understand my emotional experiences, strengthening my roots, and discovering new paths within myself. As José Saramago puts it:

“The journey never ends. Only travelers do. […] The end of one journey is just the beginning of another. The journey must begin again. Always. The traveler returns soon.”

Like the traveler described by Saramago, I believe that each therapeutic process is a constant and profound journey of rediscovery. In my work, I seek to create a safe space where you can practice your inner listening and reconnect with yourself. When we tell our story, we not only revisit the past but also reconstruct our inner world, redefining who we are through our perceptions and our bodies.

Somatic Psychotherapy incorporates the body into our narrative, allowing emotions and sensations to find expression, acceptance, and reinterpretation. Telling our story in this context means reconstructing not only our perspective on the past, but also our bodily and emotional presence in the here and now.

Training:

Training in Somatic Psychotherapy – CPSB (Mentara)
Trauma, Neuroscience and Treatment Course – Dr. Sofia Bauer
Restorative Yoga – Dr. Sofia Bauer
Mindfulness Course – Renata Fiszman

It will be an honor to accompany you on this journey back to yourself.

Alexandra Guedes

Intern psychotherapist

I've always felt a deep desire to understand the human being in its entirety—not just its symptoms, but what moves and transforms it. This search led me, at a young age, to delve into the world of therapies, beginning with Astrology and Reiki. These were the first steps on a path that I now recognize as a true journey of integration.

Over the years, I've delved deeper into practices such as Kinesiology, Hypnotherapy, Family Constellations, and Feng Shui. Each of these approaches brought me new techniques and new ways of looking at others—and at myself. I discovered that none of them alone was sufficient, but that they all intertwined and complemented each other. It was from this perspective that I developed an integrative therapeutic method, where body, mind, emotion, and space listen to each other.

I make no distinction between who I am and what I practice. My work is born from experience, from internal listening, from the sensations that permeate me, and from a constant desire to learn. My training in Psychotherapy deepened and structured this lived knowledge, allowing me to integrate all that I am into a clearer, more ethical, and conscious path.

Today, as an intern, I bring not only the tools I've learned, but also a sense of presence and sensitive listening, where each person is welcomed as unique. What fulfills me most is walking alongside those who seek me out—with presence, respect, and the certainty that every step counts.

Susana Hoyos

Psychotherapist

I was born in Colombia, and one of the greatest lessons in life has been traveling the world, from Canada to Chile, and from India to Cambodia, and for more than seven years Portugal has been my home.
I studied Psychology and, with the aim of deepening my knowledge about supporting people in discovering themselves and becoming friends with their humanity, I studied Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, I was certified in TRE (Trauma and Tension Releasing Exercise) and I am in the second year of training at the Soma Intimacy Institute (Embodied Sexuality)
The psychotherapeutic process I invite you to is resource-oriented, trauma-informed, and process-centered. This means it is a journey that unfolds at your own pace, with a constant invitation to kindness and compassion for yourself and an understanding of the importance of your commitment, responsibility, and agency.
I also like to say that I do advocacy in consultation. I often find myself talking about the impact of living in a patriarchal and capitalist system. I believe that we can all carry out the internal processes that we can, but if we do not question the social, political and economic network that sustains us, our process will be incomplete.
I follow processes online and in person in Lisbon, in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Personal Interests: Eternally passionate about humanistic issues, tireless
seeker of meaning and answers to human challenges, I found in Biosynthesis
and in Psychotherapy, in general, a way to transform my destiny, after 40 years of
practice in management and leadership in North American multinational companies.
My experience shows that it is never too late to combine vocation with profession and
feel greater self-fulfillment in life.
I have deep confidence in the psychotherapeutic process. The proof of this is that I
I practice what I advocate to my clients, continuing my own path
of discovery and transformation. Our capacity to know ourselves and to
build a more satisfying day-to-day life.

In the practice and studies of psychotherapy, I have focused, in a more
detailed, on the psychoneurophysiological aspects and effects of stress/trauma, with the
aim to understand the signals of our physiology and thus increase resilience, as well
how to restore the general well-being of our body, organism and systems.
To this end, I have invested my training in the most advanced knowledge,
international level, in trauma and neuroscience.
Open-minded and positive, I see the world with curiosity and enthusiasm like never before,
an endless array of open possibilities. Through my constant transformation, I am a
firmly convinced of the capabilities of every human being, among whom I will have some
privilege of following as Clients.

In my clinical practice, I integrate tools from Yoga and meditation as complementary resources to psychotherapy, exploring their benefits in deepening body listening, emotional regulation and expanding consciousness. At the same time, I continue to expand my studies in the area of psychoanalysis at the Brazilian Institute of Clinical Psychoanalysis (IBPC), which further enriches my therapeutic approach, uniting body, mind and unconscious in a process of comprehensive care.

Patricia Nunes

Psychotherapist

From a very early age, I felt a calling to explore my inner nature and seek a deeper meaning in life. This path led me to encounters that allowed me to grow, find answers, and deepen my relationship with myself and the world. At the same time, studies in sociology, philosophy, and astrology helped me give concrete form to abstract reflections on who we are and the meaning of existence.

My search for self-knowledge was also enriched by the arts and dance, especially through Biodanza. Later, my professional experience in the fashion world gave me a more pragmatic perspective, allowing me to balance the intensity of my inner world with the demands of practical life. Motherhood, in turn, revealed to me the profound meaning of integrating the various dimensions of human experience—inner and outer, conscious and unconscious.

Along this journey, I've always felt the urge to integrate different knowledge and sensibilities into a coherent therapeutic system. Biosynthesis emerged as an opportunity to unite core expressions of my being—body, psyche, and sensitivity—and place them at the service of healing and transformation. This encounter naturally led me to psychotherapy.

Today, I dedicate myself to offering a safe, confidential, and trustworthy space where each person can explore their process of self-knowledge and transformation, building greater emotional balance, integration, and quality of life.
