On the day October 10, 2025, the Mentara was present at 5th edition of the Health and Wellness Fair, held in Ajuda Botanical Garden, in Lisbon.

The presence of Maria del Mar, founder and director of Mentara, was one of the most inspiring moments of the event, in a meeting that brought together professionals, students and curious people around the promotion of a more conscious and balanced life.

During her speech, Maria del Mar reflected on the role of human relations and of the emotional consistency in the construction of well-being.

“What makes a person truly happy is not the number of relationships they have, but the number of consistent, deep, and lasting relationships throughout their life.”

The conversation also brought to light themes that permeate clinical practice and the humanistic perspective that guides Mentara's work:

“What really matters is affection.”

“We live in a permanent state of alert — we constantly hear from the news that the world is always ending and that there is a lot of war.”

With her usual sensitivity, Maria del Mar highlighted the importance of reconnect body and soul, rescuing natural rhythms and listening more deeply to ourselves:

“We are the only animal that doesn't eat when we're hungry and doesn't sleep when we're sleepy.”

“Who sustains what? Is it the soul that sustains the body or the body that sustains the soul?”

In a touching closing, he left a reflection on time and finitude:

“Finitude does not guarantee change, but it has the power to do so.”

Mentara's participation in this fair reinforces the project's commitment to promoting mental, emotional and somatic health, through a look integrative, human and transformative.
