THE Training in Systemic Character Analysis, guided by Fernando Freitas, This is a theoretical, practical, and experiential course that prepares professionals to understand and intervene in the deep patterns that organize human behavior.

Based on an integrated approach encompassing body, emotion, mind, and system, this training teaches how to identify how emotional history, primary bonds, and family dynamics are inscribed in the body—influencing how each person thinks, feels, acts, and relates.

Throughout the course, participants develop skills in:

  • passive and active body language
  • identifying character traits
  • understanding defense mechanisms
  • Reading emotional and relational patterns

More than just acquiring knowledge, this training allows To see more clearly, diagnose more accurately, and intervene more thoroughly. – addressing the root causes of the problems and not just the symptoms.

Objectives

The main objective of this training is to equip professionals with a systemic and bodily understanding of human beings, increasing the effectiveness of their intervention in different contexts.

Throughout the course, you will:

• Learning to identify emotional, bodily, and relational patterns.
• Recognizing character traits and their defense mechanisms
• Differentiate between functional and dysfunctional dimensions of behavior.
• Understanding the origin of patterns from child development and the family system.
• To increase diagnostic capacity and professional decision-making skills.
• Apply the knowledge in therapeutic, educational, and organizational contexts.
• To act with greater clarity, confidence, and depth in human monitoring processes.

What you will learn:

1. Fundamentals of Systemic Character Analysis
• Emotional embryology and early bodily records
• Child development and character formation
• The relationship between attachment, trauma, and adult functioning patterns
• Neurobiological and psychosomatic bases of behavior

2. Reading character traits and human patterns
• Identification of the main character traits (schizoid, oral, psychopathic, masochistic, and rigid)
• Body language: posture, breathing, muscle tone and movement
• Emotional, mental, and relational functioning of each trait
• Functional dimension (resources and talents) vs. dysfunctional dimension (blockages and conflicts)
• Interaction of multiple traits in the same individual

3. Diagnosis and practical intervention
• Passive and active body language reading in real-life contexts
• Identification of repetitive patterns and systemic dynamics
• Body and systemic intervention strategies
• Service simulations and case studies
• Application in therapeutic, family, and organizational contexts

Frequently asked questions

With the exception of attending the specialization course in Biointegrative Somatic Psychotherapy or the Double Specialization in Somatosensory Integrative Psychotherapy, the remaining courses do not require an interview.

Most courses have different formats (in-person, online and hybrid) and students can select the format, as long as it is available.

Mentara is a training center certified by DGERT and duly accredited by EAP (an international organization), and all students will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course.

Yes, in most courses it is possible to suspend attendance, and to do so you must request the Mentara course regulations.
