Mentara (Portugal) and the Centro Besai (Barcelona) join forces in a solid, international partnership, born of a deep affinity of vision, practice and values. The result is a unique training program: Dual Specialization in Integrative Somatosensory Psychotherapy.
This training of excellence combines contemporary integrative psychotherapy with a deep somatic approach, centered on the body, listening, presence and human experience. A relational, clinical and transformative program – with joint certification and a teaching team of specialists from both institutions.
Integrative Somatosensory Psychotherapy is a specialization within the
psychocorporal field that draws on pre- and perinatal psychology, enriched
by advances in neuroscience, epigenetics and humanistic psychosomatics. It also
integrates a transpersonal view, recognizing the human being as a
multidimensional whole: body, emotion, mind, bond and consciousness.
This training is geared toward psychotherapeutic work centered on
somatic memory — the affective imprint inscribed in the body since our
earliest, vital experiences. Built on a solid biosocial foundation, it is offered
not only as a clinical path, but also as a tool that can be applied in
educational, social and relational contexts.
To understand the main theoretical concepts in the field of somatic psychotherapy.
To apply intervention methods and techniques specific to somatic psychotherapy, for psychotherapeutic intervention based on different authors and theoretical schools.
To analyze in depth the theoretical foundations of somatic psychotherapy.
To explain the different intervention perspectives, as well as the assessment of the body in clinical intervention. To develop experiential skills in relating to others and deepen knowledge.
At the end of the program, trainees receive dual international certification
awarded by the two organizing institutions:
• Mentara (Lisbon)
• Centre Besai (Barcelona)
The training meets the requirements to apply for:
• European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP)
• World Certificate of Psychotherapy (WCPC
These credentials broaden professional opportunities at a
European and international level.
The ECP will be processed and certified by one of the two schools (depending on the
center where the training is delivered), while the second school will issue its
own certificate for the full program completed.
